Medicare Changes for 2019

Updated: May 22, 2019

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced changes to Medicare premiums and deductibles for 2019.

2019 Medicare Part B Premiums

In 2018, the standard Medicare Part B premium was $134/month. There will be an increase to $135.50 for the standard Part B premium in 2019. Keep in mind, some Medicare beneficiaries will pay less than the standard premium due to the hold harmless provision, while some high income earners may pay more due to an IRMAA fee.

2019 Medicare Part B Deductible

Medicare announced that there will be a small increase in the Medicare Part B deductible in 2019. In 2018 the deductible was $183 per year. It will increase to $185 annually in 2019.
